Hello! I’m Ms. Edmari Joy Gutierrez, one of your Ethnic Studies and World History teachers here at Manual Arts. This is currently my third year of teaching and I’m excited to continue to be sharing space with the Toiler Family!
ABOUT ME: Born in the Bay Area and raised in Sacramento to parents who immigrated from the Philippines. When I’m not teaching, some of my hobbies include film photography, crocheting, taking care of my houseplants, and spending time with my loved ones.
EDUCATION: I graduated from CSU Sacramento with a B.A. in Social Science, a B.A. in Ethnic Studies (Asian American Studies), and a minor in History. In 2023, I graduated from UCLA for my Masters in Education, with an emphasis on Ethnic Studies education.
