Welcome!

HEY THERE!
I'm Ms. Cabrera, one of the history teachers at Manual Arts High School. For the past seven years, I've had the opportunity to teach various social studies classes, including American Government, Economics, World History, Ethnic Studies, and Law & Youth. This year, I will be teaching 11th-grade United States History and a combined 11th and 12th-grade Latino/a Studies that delves into the history of California and Los Angeles.

I am truly passionate about the power of history to shape our understanding of the world. It's more than just dates and names; it's about connecting the past to our present and future. I believe that every student deserves to be in an environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of belonging.

BRIEF BIO:
I was born and raised in Los Angeles' Westlake-MacArthur Park area. As the daughter of Mexican immigrants, I am deeply connected to my Mexican and Angeleno roots. I'm also a proud product of LAUSD, having attended Union Avenue Elementary and Gratts Elementary School, Virgil Middle School, and graduating from Belmont High School in 2007.

Outside the classroom, I'm a cat mom to Ritchie, formerly known as "Mr. Ritchie" during our distance learning days and Griselda "Gray."
